Wife and mother tells of dementia that destroyed her family


Pictured on holiday in Turkey in 2005, the Davisons look like any other young family enjoying their time together.

But seven years on from that happy snap, the family have been left devastated by the diagnosis of dad Glenn with early onset dementia, leaving him unable to recognise his loved ones.

His wife Alison, and mum of their three children, Joseph, 16, Lucy, 14, and 13-year-old Emma, has spoken of the family’s heartache at watching their loving husband and father change before their eyes.

“It was just devastating on every level – the children lost their father and I lost my husband,” said 47-year-old Alison, who lives in Morpeth, Northumberland.
