Governor Tom Corbett has issued an executive order to create a plan to address Alzheimer's disease and related brain disorders in Pennsylvania.
The public is invited to provide input to be used in creating this plan at a regional meeting of the Pennsylvania Alzheimer’s Disease Planning Committee to be held from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Aug. 8 in 22 Biobehavioral Health Building. The meeting is hosted by the Center for Healthy Aging at Penn State.
Topics to be discussed at the meeting include: what are the needs of Pennsylvanians with Alzheimer’s disease, what resources are needed to support Pennsylvanians with Alzheimer’s disease as well as their families and caregivers, and ideas for the commonwealth to better respond to the growing number of Pennsylvanians with Alzheimer’s disease.
The Pennsylvania Alzheimer’s Disease Planning Committee will develop a comprehensive state plan by February that recommends ways to address the Alzheimer's disease crisis in Pennsylvania.
