Clock Draw Test for Alzheimer's and Dementia

Imagine a simple, non-intrusive, test for Alzheimer's and related dementia that could be administered while you were sitting in the doctor's office waiting to be examined. The Alzheimer's Clock Draw Test could be the answer.

Clock
A large fraction of the elderly, especially the older old, refuse to allow anyone to test their memory. They simply deny that there is anything wrong with their memory even when others tell them they are concerned.

So imagine sitting in the doctor's office waiting room and being handed an ipad and asked if you would like to play a game. The game -- draw a clock.

The clock draw test is very reliable, is often used by doctors, and is one of the largest Google searches that land people on the Alzheimer's Reading Room for the first time.

In my opinion, this would solve a large part of the existing problem. Many older adults refuse to allow their memory to be tested.
